Suzuka, JPN – Suzuka 1000km is the last big endurance special event of the 2025 season. 173 laps in GT3 around the legendary Suzuka course in Japan promised nothing but a flat out fight from lights to flag. HWR turned up in the Ford Mustang, with the Jean brothers and Stuart Milne in a confident mood:
“With a strong field Benjamin did very well to qualify in P29 with a very tight spread, only 0.7s off of the front row!
He made some excellent overtakes at the final chicane in the first stint to move us into the top 20. Keeping out of trouble and staying with the main pack kept us sight of the top 10.
I got in the car and frustratingly got caught behind a slightly slower car for all of my first stint, but used the opportunity to save a lap of fuel to give us an advantage later. With a good in and out lap I was able to make up 2 places and pass another car on their outlap down the inside of 130R! As I finished driving we were 9th and looking at a potential top 10.
Julien took the wheel for the final 2 hours and absorbed a load of pressure from a much faster car who had been coming back from an earlier incident. Julien kept them behind for over an entire stint and with the chasing team receiving a late drive through, we came home for an excellent 8th with nothing more we could have done to improve our result.” – Stuart Milne
This particular special event has been a bit bittersweet. It’s slated to have been our last special event with Benjamin Jean, although we hope to see him have some fun with us in the future. B. Jean is one of the winningest drivers in team history. The consistent speed and relentless drive he put into his craft and to our team was inspiring to say the least.

B. Jean will be the first member inducted into the “HWR Hall Of Fame”.
