Joliet, IL – 11/5
Round eight saw the #55 heading into the race in third place in points after a strong first half of the season. With the mile and half at Chicagoland up, the team felt great heading into Wednesday and secured the pole. Hear from Brandan Kluge:
“First off I’d like to thanks my owner for the opportunity and all my sponsors. The Falcon race wraps ford was fast all day long. Managed to snag the pole and lead the first 26 laps. Got great stage points and found the lead again at the start of stage 3. Then we got together with the 33 in the back half of the race and recovered the best we could. We were able to fix it up and we brought home a top 3. This one hurts because we had winning speed all race. Onto Watkins.”
Obviously another heart wrenching race, but the long term goal is still in reach and we’re still finishing races strong, even moving up to second in the standings and only points behind the leader. Next week for round nine we’ll tackle a road course in the team’s home state, Watkins Glen.
